NOVA VORTEX

The VORTEX is the lightweight leader in the EN-C 2-liner class, designed to deliver outstanding performance with minimal effort from the pilot. It excels in all aspects of efficient XC flying, combining high performance with a low workload for a smooth and controlled experience.

Performance meets simplicity
Optimized for efficient climbing, the VORTEX’s low weight gives it a noticeable advantage in the air. It responds effortlessly to even the weakest lift, maintaining flat turns and minimal sink rate, while also making it easy to center in strong, tight thermals.

Efficient B-Control
The B-control system on the VORTEX is the most precise NOVA has ever developed. Even the smallest input—just a few millimeters—allows for highly accurate directional control. Pitch adjustments are smooth and effective, while the pressure on the rear risers makes long glides more comfortable by reducing arm fatigue without sacrificing speed.

The uncomplicated companion
The VORTEX is designed for both real-world performance and everyday practicality. Its easy launch characteristics and compact packing make it a hassle-free companion for XC adventures. The leading-edge Nitinol rods are highly resistant to bending, allowing for smaller packing dimensions. It comes standard with the Concertina Bag Light, but a regular inner bag can also be used. Thanks to its ultralight construction, the VORTEX weighs only 3.3 kg in size XXS (60-85 kg take-off weight), making it one of the lightest gliders in its class.

Efficient down to the risers
The VORTEX risers are compact and made from 7 mm-wide, Kevlar-reinforced webbing, ensuring both durability and ease of use. Borrowing from the XENON, the Height-Adjustable B-Handles (HAB-Handles) are made of carbon fiber and can be adjusted to five different positions. This feature allows pilots to customize their handle placement based on their size and harness setup, making B-control even more effective in accelerated flight.

Target group
The VORTEX (EN C/LTF D) is designed for XC pilots who love hike-and-fly and want to experience the exceptional performance and safety of an EN-C two-liner. Pilots transitioning from the high-B class, such as those familiar with the MENTOR 7, will find the VORTEX accessible and easy to handle, making for a seamless progression into two-liner flying.

Technical data
The VORTEX is an EN C glider with 65 cells and a flat aspect ratio of 6.1. It is made from lightweight fabric, so proper care is essential when handling the wing.
