Where & When Do Lessons Take Place?

We operate at the world famous “Point of the Mountain” situated 25 minutes from the Salt Lake City Intl. Airport. Come to Utah to get your P2 Pilot rating! We teach all year round but the weather is nicest from April to October. You can begin your paragliding lessons on any day. Most people schedule a four or five day visit and then return at a later date for a few more lessons before earning their wings. We can recommend some lodging options for you; spanning all the way from camping at the flying site to staying at the finest resorts in Utah.

What are Paragliding Lessons Like?

We pride ourselves on offering personalized instruction. Some students are comfortable with a quick progression and others move along very slowly. We have learned that over the long term, the student that progresses more slowly will actually enjoy the process more. In the end, our students consistently exceed the USHPA minimum requirements for attaining a P2 rating and have a great time doing so. They graduate with skills and experience that are way above average. Read on for more detail on our paragliding courses.

Deluxe P2 Pilot Certification Package $3,000

The Deluxe course is hard to match. The most important thing to know about this course is that it will take you well passed the minimum 35 flights. Its more common for pilots to have 60+ flights before completing instruction.  That means you can return to the Point of the Mountain a few times while you are learning in order to gain flights. Years from now when you want to become an advanced pilot (and have the rating that goes along with it) we are here to help you for a nominal fee. All that we ask of you is that you be firmly dedicated to becoming the best pilot that you can be. Our students graduate with excellent skills, solid experience and their own equipment; so get excited! Your day will start early; the lessons are somewhat taxing both mentally and physically. Look forward to ground school and classroom sessions during the mid-day and then an evening lesson that goes until sunset.  A 50% deposit in advance of your arrival will guarantee your spot. Students, in general, start to purchase their own equipment by the fifth day or the twentieth flight. We are experts at finding the best possible equipment for our students.

Introductory lesson $200

Do you want to find out if paragliding is for you? Would you like to strap on a glider and give it a try? Then an introductory lesson is best. If you continue on with our Deluxe P2 course, the $200 will be applied to your lesson package.

Why are Super Fly Paragliding Lessons a Good Choice?

Don’t forget! We have been teaching full time since 1991 and during that time we have excelled in many areas including: teaching beginners, teaching people how to teach and also teaching people how to fly tandem. We have even been recognized by the USHPA and featured in numerous magazines and television programs. If you check around, you will find that our instructors and our program are highly recommended. Many pilots come to us for continued education and remark that they wish they had come to us in the first place.

Our training site is one of the most consistent in the country which means that you will be taking your first flights, soaring and working on the finer points of paragliding in short order. No doubt you will be making the most of your valuable time. If you can’t travel to Utah, let us know where you are and when you are free. We know instructors in most states and we can recommend a reputable school for you to investigate.

Instructor Training, Tandem Training and Mini Wing/ Speed Wing Training

We love helping our flying friends to fly mini/ speed wings. We generally wait until pilots are licensed P2 before flying mini/ speed wings. Contact us directly to discuss your desire to learn to fly mini/ speed wings or become an instructor and/ or tandem pilot. The average cost of any of these courses is $500 but varies depending on the situation.

Please contact us if you would like more information about paragliding lessons! info@superflyinc.com

NOTE: it was our pleasure to offer unlimited and lifetime lessons for many, many years. Due to factors beyond our control and factors that have emerged in 2026, we can no longer offer such a product. The environment now demands clarity about when a lesson is or is not taking place. For this reason, when students want to engage in follow up lessons after achieveng a P2 rating, they will need to enter into another transaction which will be recognized by a formal exchange of money. The cost of this follow up will vary based on the individual pilot's needs. Please contact us ASAP if you have any questions at all about this subject.

Who you'll learn with

Instruction by pilots who still fly daily

Chris Santacroce founded Super Fly in 1994 and has been teaching at the Point of the Mountain ever since. He's coached world-cup competitors, trained U.S. military jumpers, and signed off more P2 pilots than he can count — and he still flies almost every flyable day. The rest of our instructor team holds current USHPA credentials and trains the way Chris taught them: patient, conservative, and never in a hurry.

What kind of weather do we need to train?

Paragliding is a weather-dependent sport. We train in smooth, predictable conditions — typically light-to-moderate winds aligned with the training hill and no rain or thunderstorm activity. The Point of the Mountain is famous for its reliable morning and evening cycles, which is why we teach here. If conditions aren't safe, we reschedule at no cost. Plan on a few extra days in your schedule to give weather the room it needs.

How fit do I need to be?

If you can comfortably hike a gentle hill carrying a backpack of groceries, you're fit enough to start. Training days involve repeated short walks up the training hill carrying your wing (about 25-35 lbs). You don't need to be an athlete — you need to be healthy, mobile, and willing to pay attention for several hours at a time.

What's the minimum age?

Students must be at least 18 to enroll in a full P2 course on their own. Riders 14-17 can fly tandem with a parent's written consent and participation. There is no upper age limit — some of our favorite students have started in their 60s.

How long does it take to get certified?

The USHPA P2 rating typically takes 7-10 full training days spread across 2-4 weeks, depending on the weather and how quickly you progress. We don't rush. Some students finish faster; some take a full season. Your rating is good for life, so we'd rather you leave confident than leave on schedule.

What should I bring?

Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support, long pants, a light jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water. We provide the flying gear — glider, harness, helmet, reserve, and radio — for the duration of your course. If you already own gear, bring it and we'll check it over before you fly it.

What happens if it rains or the wind is wrong?

We reschedule. Weather cancellations never cost you a training day — your package covers the curriculum, not the calendar. Travelers coming in from out of town should plan to stay at least a few days longer than the minimum course length to give the weather room to cooperate.
