Meet the Instructors
Super Fly is comprised of Chris Santacroce and Jeff Farrell; along with five distinguished, experienced and certified instructor/ tandem pilots. When you learn at Super Fly, you may be learning from an accomplished competition pilot, an examiner for the national organization or one of the top aerobatics pilots in the country. One thing is for sure; you will be learning from a personable and confident instructor that knows how to have fun while keeping things safe.
“I really appreciate your maturity, knowledge and professionalism for flying. I dream about the flying at Valle and look forward to some more time flying and learning with you and Jeff. ” – Bob B
What are Paragliding Lessons Like?
We pride ourselves on offering one on one or one on two instruction. Some students are comfortable with a quick progression and others move along very slowly. We have learned that over the long term, the student that progresses more slowly will actually enjoy the process more. In the end, our students consistently exceed the USHPA minimum requirements for attaining a P2 rating and have a great time doing so. Read below for more detail on our paragliding courses.
“I had an unbelievable time last week. I can’t believe I was speed gliding in just hours. It was quite the thrill!” – Chuck M
Where & When Do Lessons Take Place?
We operate at the world famous “Point of the Mountain” situated 25 minutes from the Salt Lake City Intl. Airport. Come to Utah to get your P2 Pilot rating! We teach all year round but the weather is nicest from April to October. You can begin your lessons on any day. Most people schedule a four or five day visit and then return at a later date for a few more lessons before earning their wings. We can recommend some lodging options for you; spanning all the way from camping at the flying site to staying at the finest resorts in Utah.
Why are Super Fly Paragliding Lessons the Best?
We have been teaching full time since 1991 and during that time we have excelled in many areas including: teaching beginners, teaching people how to teach and teaching people how to fly tandem. We have even been recognized by the USHPA and featured in numerous magazines and television programs. If you check around, you will find that our instructors and our program are highly recommended. Many pilots come to us for continued education and remark that they wish they had come to us in the first place.
Don’t forget!
Our training site is one of the most consistent in the country which means that you will be taking your first flights, soaring and working on the finer points of paragliding in short order. No doubt you will be making the most of your valuable time. If you can’t travel to Utah, let us know where you are and when you are free. We have associate instructors throughout the continent; some of which can travel to you.

Paragliding Lessons and Pricing
Deluxe P2 Pilot Certification: $1,400
“56 flights in 12 days! Between the training hill, tandems, desert and lake tows, and top of the hill flights I got a great opportunity to build my skills in a variety of different situations.” – Chris R
“The learning was pretty much non-stop, both on the ground and in the air. Their decade plus of Valle experience also means that logistics are a non-issue; you hang with pilots of a similar empassioned persuasion, you sleep, you eat, and you fly. No worries.” – J Hull
The Deluxe course is hard to match. The most important thing to know about this course is that it is unlimited! That means you can return to the Point of the Mountain or any other place that we happen to be teaching; and be welcomed like family. Years from now when you want to become an advanced pilot (and have the rating that goes along with it) we are here to help you along at no additional charge. All that we ask of you is that you be firmly dedicated to becoming the best pilot that you can be. Our students graduate with excellent skills, solid experience and their own equipment; so get excited! Your day will start early; the lessons are somewhat taxing both mentally and physically. Look forward to ground school and classroom sessions during the mid-day and then an evening lesson that goes until sunset. Please send a deposit in advance of your arrival and expect us to apply $400 of your tuition toward your equipment purchase. Students, in general, purchase their own equipment by the fifth day or the twentieth flight. We are experts at finding the best possible equipment for our students.
Tandem Flights: $125
Tandem flights are the easiest, fastest and safest way to experience paragliding for the first time. Our USHPA Advanced Tandem Instructors have flown thousands of safe, injury free tandem flights. We have taken passengers from 4 – 84 years old and from 20 – 275 pounds. If you can jog 50 feet, you can fly with us! After a ten minute briefing our professional tandem pilot will take you into the air for a flight that lasts from 15 – 50 minutes depending on flying conditions. Safety? We have flown THOUSANDS of commercial tandem flights over the past 15 years with a PERFECT safety record.
Super Fly uses state of the art tandem gliders which are specially built for two. The passenger (you) and the flight instructor each have their own comfortable, cushioned harness. You are then connected together and finally connected to the glider. Two minutes later, you’re airborne! Once in the air your flight instructor will explain to you what he is doing and how paragliders fly. If conditions permit, you may be offered hands on control of the glider.
Be sure to bring your camera, long pants, a wind breaker, sunglasses and sturdy footwear (preferably boots). A tandem flight is best suited to a person seeking an exciting one time event or for beginner and intermediate pilots wishing to brush up on their skills and learn new ones.
How is Super Fly different? If you take time to compare one school to another (and you should), you will find that the big difference is:
- Our instructors really have been teaching for years (this means they know all the great teaching tricks and have good judgment)
- We are a very large distributor of paragliding products and we use almost brand new equipment when teaching (new equipment makes learning safe and easy)
- We incorporate boat and truck towing into our programs which means that you are guaranteed to have an opportunity to fly thousands of feet over the ground where you can learn about 360′s, big ears, speed bar use and a whole host of other maneuvers that cannot be practiced when flying off of a hill
We teach year round, 7 days a week (weather permitting). We can accommodate anyone’s schedule. Please email us for more information or better yet, give us a call. 801.255.9595.
